It was stormy last night again. Not windy, but crazy loud thunder and lightning. It was hard to sleep. Tonight it will probably be harder to sleep. But, not because of a storm. We went to Hershey town today, and I think I had as much chocolate today as I have had all year. The place is crazy... There is a huge amusement park, a zoo, wild animal park, water park, and a place called chocolate world, which is a factory/ tour/museum. We only went to the chocolate world, although I would have loved to go to the amusement park.

There looked like some great roller coasters, but the kiddos wouldn't have been able to go on much. The chocolate world adventure started out on a Disney Ike ride, full of singing cows, that took you through the production of chocolate and a mock tour of the factory. (mind you after every event and sometimes during...we were given chocolate samples - including Jack and Lucca)

After the ride we learned about the history of Hershey by watching an over the top 3d movie where Hershey kisses flew off the screen. Jack was so convinced that he actually grabbed for them as the floated off the screen. Then it was off to chocolate tasting. A comparison of the different chocolate that Hershey offers. Lucca couldn't stop eating and the only way to keep her quiet during the presentation was...chocolate.

Also, every time she heard the word kiss, she came around and kissed us all. It was really cute. Then we had a trolley tour around the town of Hershey that was hosted by two singing (and punning) conductors dressed in period costumes. On the trolley is where we learned about the diet chocolate hersheys kiss street lamps Made from "light" chocolate...but when the bulb goes out they turn to "dark" chocolate.

Next we were suited up in factory garb and were able to design our own chocolate bars which we got to watch go through production.

Jordan chose dark chocolate with butter toffee chunks. Jack chose milk chocolate with semisweet chocolate bits and sprinkles. I was adventurous and got white chocolate with pretzel bits, chocolate cookie bits, butter toffee chunks, with sprinkles. I think it's going to taste gross. We also designed our own labels.

This was all before lunch....
After lunch jack got to pack up an actual box of kisses that are to be sold in the store.

Then after a decent sized crash/ meltdown. We came back to Mimi for dinner and bed.

Location:Hershey, PA
