6-10-11

We got up and started driving right away to the Thousand Islands Bay. Yes, where the dressing came from! We pulled into our campground around noon and after lunch we headed over to Alexandra Bay to go to Boldt Castle. An unfinished castle on an island in Lake Ontario right where the St. Lawrence river meets it. Boldt was the man of the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City. He started to build this castle for his wife, but when she died suddenly he stopped building and never went there again. It was neat to see the empty unfinished rooms and the ones that they have finished in the last few year to look as they were intended.

We had to take a boat to get there. In this bay there really are about 1800 islands. Some big and some tiny. This one is only big enough for a house. There was one that was too small for a house so the house was floating next to it and the island was like a yard.

After the castle we headed back to have dinner go to bed. But I guess today didnt have enough excitement for Lucca because she knocked over the 5 gallon jug of water onto the floor of Mimi. Water went everywhere! We made a mad dash to clean it up and after about 45 minutes of toweling and vacuuming up all the water we finally went to bed. You would think the day ended there but no, in the middle of the night the bed that we sensed was going, broke. I guess it is not meant for two people two kids and a big dog to sleep, jump, wrestle and..... on. We kept on sleeping because what else could we do.
