5-16-11 Day 35

Slept in this morning, would have slept longer but i woke Lucca up by moving...again...

Mostly hung around camp this morning. We eventually got motivated to take the drive to Gatlnberg, TN which is about 30 minutes through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The road is called the Newfound Gap. Everyone was telling us it would take an hour or more to get there. I think people from North Carolina have a different sense of time, because it only took us about 45 minutes and we even took a detour. The road was amazing like everyone had told us.

We got to the town of Gatlinberg and were surprised at how it felt like a hillbilly fisherman's wharf. With all the Ripley museums and hard rock cafe, etc....We ended up having pancakes for lunch.
On the way back to camp we stopped, and braved the rain for a nature walk which took us back into the forest.

We also sopped and let the kids play in the grass for a little while.

Night time went as usual...Dinner, kids to bed, blogging, river/sky gazing, and bed.

By the way, we think we figured out how to post video up here, so keep your eye out over the next few days for our adventures with sound! and motion!

Location:Cherokee, NC
