5-15-11

When we drove in the other day we went past a place called Santa Land. Yep, Jack couldn't stop talking about it so we went this morning.

Santa Land is all Santa, all year, all Santa.... We appeared to be the only people who were willing to brave Santa Land. They have Santa in front of his house right when you walk in so we had to say hi.

It was a small amusement park with three areas. The playground, the zoo, and the ride area. It was a little strange at first but it turned out to be a fun place. We rode the train, fed the raindeer, and rode all the rides including the Rudicoaster!

And yes, saw the life sized gold nativity scene!

We were brave enough to ride the rides but not brave enough to eat the food. So we headed to the tourist trap Cherokee in search of some moccasins and indian tacos. After each getting a pair of moccasins from a nice couples store they told us where to go for the best indian tacos. Paul's was a great place with tables outside on the creek and very good indian tacos. Indian tacos are yummy think fry bread with a chilli like meat, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and cheese. Really good stuff. Jack was daring and tried frogs legs. Not sure he liked them but did eat some.

We went back to mimi for naps and some more creekside relaxing.

We decided to let Jack stay up to have a fire and roast marshmallows. We watched the fireflies, and bats till we fell asleep.

Location:Cherokee, North Carolina
