5-4-11

May the 4th be with you...

I got up and stumbled over to the ranger station to find out about the cave tour at our campground, the Alabaster Caverns State Park. Which, by the way is quite nice for a state park. We couldn't get it together for the 9 am tour and the ranger warned me that all the tours from 10-1 were going to have school groups. We decided to try the 10 tour anyhow, which turned out fine. Jack loved the caves and we even got to see bats up close. Really cute tiny little bats called tricolor bats. Here are some other pretty cute bats. Although I would not recommend harvesting their guano (from experience).

After emerging from the depths (ok only 80 feet). We had lunch and the kids played with the schoolchildren at the playground.

After nap we took Lola for a walk around the campground. Took this photo of the scenic overlook.

Yep, thats Oklahoma. We were really the only people here after the rangers left at 5. Its kind of lonely. Except for the millions of moths that we have to chase out of Mimi.

After trying for 3 hours to get the kids to sleep. We are off to bed ourselves.
(Jackie and Joe...thanks for the video reccomendation -RV- we watched it tonight)
