We were happy to leave Nashville this morning, so much so that I braved a torrential downpour to hook up Mimi and get going. We drove in the rain for most of the morning and finally crossed into North Carolina. On the highway we saw a sign for a dairy farm tour, so we decided to make the detour. But first we needed to eat lunch because the kids were starving. Right when we left "the cracker barrel" ( if you haven't been to one - they are part restaurant, part general store, all country) it started raining again. We still drove to the dairy farm but pretty much weren't expecting a tour in this rain.
The dairy farm store was open and we got to see all the big cheese making machines, we also got to try a bunch of different cheeses. We ended up leaving with more cheese than we can eat. Anyone want to stop by camp for some cheese and crackers? After a self tour of their "dairy museum" we were on our way to the Smoky Mountains. It was a long day of driving and we were almost to our campsite when I refused to slow down enough for Jordan to take photos of these elk.

We got to our campsite, another Yogi Bear, and after some site shuffling, we ended up here.

It's amazing! There is a river running right in front of our site and it is so beautiful here in the trees. After the kids went to sleep we sat in the moonlight watching the fireflies flicker. We are happy to be back in nature.
