5-10-11

We did a lot today. Sitting here writing this I'm having a hard time with the fact that it was just this morning that we went to Waffle House for breakfast.
We all love it and its pretty gross. The food is good and the people always nice but they are sticky and the one this morning you could smoke in so....

After that we went to the grocery store and stocked up for the next few days. I'm having a hard time finding whole fat organic greek yogurt. Can you imagine! The whole country doesn't eat that stuff. LOL but it is a little tricky finding the healthy foods that we are used to eating.

Then the fun began. We headed over to the Children's Museum of Memphis. It was a good one too. The theme right now was Wizard of OZ.

They had this fun recording room that Paul and Jack played in for awhile.

And a grocery store, of course.

After the museum we had to find paul a new camera lens and me a new ergo. Mine broke and there is no way we can make it 2+ more months with out that.

With new lens, new ergo and two happy kids we headed back to the trailer to check in on Lola.

Dinner time. BBQ again tonight. We were headed to A&R B B Q "anyone can put heat to meat but only a few can B B Q". It was good. All the way around different than last nights. The crowd was different and the smoke different. It was a very authentic Memphis rib joint. We had the pink strawberry cake which was so good, we got a piece to go.

Then we went over to Beale St. to check out the blues scene. Jack saw a horse drawn carriage ride and convinced us to take it. We are really glad we did. We got to see downtown Memphis, the Mississippi and a bunch of historic buildings. Thanks for the idea Jack.

After, we walked the rest of Beale St.

Now we must sit and figure out where we go tomorrow. Now that we made it through the first leg we can start thinking about the East Coast!

Location:Memphis, United States
