Today we were not going to get in the car. We could all use the break. Instead we hiked along the rushing Pine Creek from our campsite. We continued along until the trail split off to the main Pine Creek trail. We really didn't know where the trail would lead but we did know that 5 miles up there was a lake. Also the day before yesterday someone saw a Grizzly and her cub along the trail. We walked about a mile and stopped for a break at a nice little creek tributary. Jack took a dip in the ice cold water. Lola enjoyed it as well. We were going to turn around ( as this is about the limit for Jack) when another hiker told us that just up the trail a few hundred yards was a waterfall. Of course we hiked up to the falls. It was amazing. Right when we got to the falls, we heard thunder, then the rain started. Needless to say we had a quick wet walk back to camp. After dinner and when the kids were in bed Jordan and I had planned to sit outside and enjoy the site. The kids thought differently. We ended up joining them in Mimi as we all tried to fall asleep.
